簡述
據微軟官方 blog的消息，windows 的默認瀏覽器 Edge將切換內核至 Chromium，并且微軟將秉承開源精神，在未來更多的為 Chromium項目貢獻代碼。

原文如下：
For the past few years, Microsoft has meaningfully increased participation in the open source software (OSS) community, becoming one of the world’s largest supporters of OSS projects. Today we’re announcing that we intend to adopt the Chromium open source project in the development of Microsoft Edge on the desktop to create better web compatibility for our customers and less fragmentation of the web for all web developers.
As part of this, we intend to become a significant contributor to the Chromium project, in a way that can make not just Microsoft Edge — but other browsers as well — better on both PCs and other devices.

對于普通用戶，這意味著什么？
對于普通用戶，一些之前沒有適配過 edge 的頁面會有更好的用戶體驗。
如果你們使用的網頁之前就有適配 ie、edge 的話，更換內核后頁面并不會有什么差別。
對于 Web 開發者， 這意味著什么？
意味著更好的前端開發體驗，雖然 Edge 相對于 IE 已有相當大的進步。但是仍然存在各種適配問題。加上 IE 并沒有被完全摒棄。Edge 的出現不僅沒有降低前端開發人員適配 IE 的痛苦。反而又新增了一個新的需要適配的瀏覽器。
Edge 切換至 Chromium 內核意味著前端開發人員能減少許多的適配煩惱。
微軟邀請開發者加入 edge 開發者社區，安裝預覽版的 Edge 并以此測試自己的網頁。
并且微軟昨天剛剛創建了新的 github repository 用于放置 Microsoft Edge 相關文檔。預計后續新版本內核的 Edge 可能也會放置于此 Repository， 大家不妨關注一下:

這是一個好消息 ：）
微軟作為一個互聯網行業的巨頭，以往的腳步都是偏沉緩的。
但如今我們能感受到它慢慢變的輕盈起來：更多的參與到開源事業（2018 年的 github contributor 冠軍）、創建出廣受好評的開源項目（VS Code，TypeScript 等）、收購 Github、切換 Edge 內核。
不斷做出改變的 MS 值得我們的進一步期待。
